The Northwest's Famous
Premier Guided Fly Fishing Trips
The Lower Deschutes River has found its way onto nearly every serious anglers bucket list. Known for its hard fighting Redside Rainbow Trout as well as a run of Summer Steelhead, this desert tailwater will put your fish fighting skills to the test.
Come drift through the spectacular high desert canyon of the Lower Deschutes River. Stopping at all the honey holes along the way to get out of the boat and focus in on where the big fish live (Oregon does not allow fishing from the boat on the Lower Deschutes. Check out our McKenzie trips for drift boat fishing).
This 100 mile long section of river offers single day float trips as well as multiday camp trip options of up to four days.
The season on the Lower Deschutes opens on the third Saturday in April and runs through the end of December. Our most popular times (and often the best fishing) are the salmon fly hatch (May and early June) followed by epic caddis hatches (mid June - July) and then fall trout & steelhead fishing (September - October).
A Testing Grounds with BIG Rewards
The Lower Deschutes has BIG rewards for anglers looking to test their skills.
From long stacking drifts off gravel bars, to tightly casting dry flies up under trees at large rise forms. If your willing to work for it, this river will provide you with an experience that will leave you stunned (and possibly with a sore arm!) and coming back for more.
Nervous? No worries! Let us teach you the latest techniques that will help any angler advance to the next level.
